Prizes Are Not bad for the nineties,……..
Well whether it is or not is debatable. I already said that.
The BBC Drama Depratment said it is a kids show, yet the BBC also say that anything not made by the Children’s Department is not a children’s programme.
I think it’s because it would be more interesting if both kids came from the same school. And why wouldn’t a headteacher want to have kids from their school as contestants on a game show?
Is Dr Who a kids show? I am not sure if it is?
Anyway, I was wondering if you know the reason why kids couldn’t apply to go on Fun House and that STV had to visits schools to find contestants? It is just that i find it supprising that Headteachers will allow this.
and as I’m a Doctor Who fan, I remember that some episodes of the original series got higher than that (16 million for a 1979 episod – City of Death – although that was tyransmitted during the ITV strike of that year), although whether Doctor Who actually classes as a kids TV show is debatable.
Shame. It should be brought back, but it is unlikely with all the health and safety,
Well one of the highest – probably the highest for a kids show shown during “kids programmes time”. I think Worzel Gummidge used to get around 10 million viewers, but that was an ITV (Southern TV) kids show that was shown at about 5:15 on Sunday (later, Saturday) nights.
I think the peak of Fun House came in the early 90s, but like many TV shows, it passsed it’s “sell by date” and the viewers got bored of it. and looking at those clips from 1989 episodes recently uploaded it’s not surprising
Because at one point, Fun Huse was recieving 8 milion viewers per episode. That is surely the highest rating for a kids show in the UK.
Well I think the 1998 series was good to begin with, but then slipped rather quickly. I think sliding ratings were the reasons for the changes made to the series within the final few series
Few series? You said at one point that the 1998 series ratings were very good.
1989 – 1999
The final few series got dismal ratings
Good video. ”Fun House” was one of CITV’s longest running shows, as I think it ran from 1989 – 1998. But at least by 1996, Pat Sharp had cut his mullet off! Also, is that Matt Littler (from ”Hollyoaks”) at around 6:50 in the trailer for ”The Ward”? It certainly looks like him!…
I only found out about dragon boating two years ago and I’m near 30!
